Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. (GPEC) was founded in 1956, formerly known as Fushun Design Institute of the Ministry of Petroleum Industry, the Second Petroleum Refining Design Institute of the Ministry of Petroleum Industry, Sinopec Luoyang Design Institute, and Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Company. In 2012, the company completed its restructuring and integrated management with Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd.
In May 2013, as a subsidiary of Sinopec Refining and Chemical Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., it was listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
